How Thoughtful Design Choices Can Elevate Your Home

Renovated minimalistic living room and house in London

In home design, even the smallest decisions can have a significant impact. At 2V Projects, we believe that every space has the potential to be transformed into something extraordinary with the right blend of materials, colors, and features. Whether we’re collaborating with talented designers like Nick Ellias or working directly with clients to bring their visions to life, our goal is to turn every project into a masterpiece.

In this blog, we’ll showcase some of our recent renovation work in London and offer design tips that may inspire your next home transformation. Whether you’re seeking to introduce more natural light, add cozy touches, or embrace a modern minimalist style, thoughtful design choices can make all the difference.

Opening Up Your Space with Skylights

One of our recent clients, in collaboration with Nick Ellias, wanted to create a brighter, more open living area. To achieve this, we installed a double-glazed fixed roof skylight, flooding the space with natural light while keeping it energy efficient.

Skylights are a fantastic option for any home as they not only make rooms feel larger and more inviting but also add a modern touch that complements both minimalist and traditional designs.

Double glazing ensures excellent insulation, so you’re not sacrificing comfort for brightness. If you’re looking to open up your home and reduce reliance on artificial lighting, skylights are a great solution.

A Cozy and Inviting Kitchen with White and Wood Elements

Another client wanted their kitchen to be both functional and warm, so they opted for a white and wood design. The crisp, clean look of white surfaces paired with the natural texture of wood creates a harmonious balance of modernity and warmth. The white reflects light, making the kitchen feel more open, while the wood adds depth and coziness, ensuring the space feels welcoming.

This combination is perfect for those who want a kitchen that feels timeless but still has character. It’s a versatile look that can work in both contemporary and traditional homes.

Gold and Green Bathroom - Our Favourite Colour Combination

Green and gold create a refreshing yet luxurious aesthetic in bathrooms. Green evokes a sense of nature, tranquility, and relaxation, making the space feel calm and rejuvenating. Gold adds a touch of elegance and warmth, offering a sophisticated contrast to the coolness of green. Together, they balance natural serenity with opulence, making the bathroom feel both inviting and stylish.

London bathroom renovation, beige and soft pink

Beige and Soft Pink Bathroom - An Aesthetical Palette

The client chose a soft beige and pale pink palette for their bathroom, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere.

This combination works beautifully as the warm beige adds a sense of coziness, while the pale pink brings a touch of subtle elegance. Together, they create a balanced, serene space that feels both modern and timeless.

The client opted for a panoramic steel cold-framed door with a single swing door that serves as an elegant exit to their garden. To enhance the aesthetic, they selected gold brass handle for a touch of sophistication.

In a minimalist home, this choice is particularly impactful. The large steel-framed door seamlessly connects the indoor living space with the outdoors, bringing in abundant natural light and creating a sense of openness—key elements in minimalist design. The clean lines of the door frame maintain the simplicity of the space, while the gold brass handles add a hint of luxury without overpowering the minimalist aesthetic. This blend of functionality and style ensures the space remains uncluttered yet visually appealing, extending the simplicity and elegance from the living room into the garden.
